It always struck the squad as strangely out of place, the voice used for the Base Attack Alert system. The head honchos had chosen a sexy female voice, pacing over the dire warning as if she was purring up at you from her knees, a voice that seemed very out of place in a time like this. Yet, the rallying effect it had could not be denied. Instead of charging to the defense, however, the squad enacted the new battle plan: The remote HW platforms would engage the bulk of the enemy forces, the squad themselves only attacking in self-defense or support. Machines were expendable.

In their dash to their defensive positions, Grammar and Moku both killed a snakeman coming out of the access lift. Several minutes of cannon fire from the HWPs, along with constant reports of alien casualties, bolstered the troops morale. Sixty and mokujin both broke formation briefly to provide backup for one of the platforms that came under heavy fire, sparing it momentarily, only to hear it explode as it ventured into the access lift. Amidst calls that Hangar Beta and Gamma had been secured by the HWPs, Mokujin ambushed the alien in the lift and fried it, although his armor deflected a wicked shot in the process. Moments later, a call from HWP Delta reported that Hanger Alpha had been secured, and forward artillery conveyed the retreat of the attacking alien vessel shortly afterward. The nearly flawless victory was celebrated heavily that night.
